The Concrete Jungle

Eric and I recently took a trip with his parents, Summer, and Landon to New York City!  The reason for the grand vacay was to attend our good pal Jason's wedding in Pennsylvania.  It was our first time to The Big Apple, and I have to say... I ABSOLUTELY love that place.  It was so exciting.  If anyone offers me a fantastic, high-paying job, I would move there in a second.

The wedding was also incredible.  It was nice to be a guest and not working.  The bride, Emily, did an AMAZING job.  There were so many personal touches, and everything was flawless.  Seriously, I was very impressed.  I danced all night!  Eric, the-father-in-law, and I also went to visit Gettysburg.  It was a beautiful day.

Our framily (I made this up for a friend who is also family) Joel was in the wedding and came back with us to New York City.  Emily & Jason also met us back in New York City after the wedding.

We could see the Empire State Building from our room.  AWESOME.

Eric working at Bryant Park on our last day.

Summer and I in Central Park on my birthday!

Eric in Toys "R" Us Times Square with a giant Hulk made of Legos.

Summer and I bought matching rain boots.  Seriously a good investment for the rainy day.  Probably not going to be useful here in the desert.

The pretty wedding.

Jason & Emily's 1st dance

We did a bus tour!  I learned a lot of history that I would have never known!

On my 28th birthday, we went to see the Broadway musical "The Newsies" and ate the most delicious dinner EVER while sitting at Warren Buffet's table at Smith and Wollensky's.  Seriously the best steak and macaroni and cheese.  The table was kind of in the kitchen... we had a big glass wall behind us so we could see all of the food coming out.  It was the best birthday- incredible city, amazing food, and I was able to see a MUSICAL.  Magical, I tell you!

Our last night in Times Square.  We missed Eric's brother, Jason, a TON!  Sorry if you've seen all of these on Facebook.  Summer has the good ones on her camera :)

Jen's 80's Prom

Our friend, Jen, turned 30 in March! We had an 80's Prom at our house. It was super fun! This is just a sneak peak. I worked on a slideshow but then the program crashed. Need a new computer. Thanks to Emily Estfan of EME Photography for taking these fun photos and for creating our "prom" backdrop! The awesome cake and cupcakes were from PJ at La Dolce Pesca.

Brophy- 2012 State Champs

We had a good month of March. For those of you who don't know (or all 2 of you that read this blog), Eric is the head coach of the varsity hockey team at Brophy College Prep. Brophy won the state Championship in March and took 3rd Place at Nationals! The photos are kind of bad, but they were from my phone, behind a net, from kinda far away... so yeah. It was very exciting, and we appreciate the support from the aunts, uncles, cousins, parents, siblings, and bosses who came to watch. They also were able to witness an exciting brawl after the game... which did not make Eric so happy. Eric's boss even had a cake for him at work the next day! So exciting.

Um... it's been a while

So apparently we were really busy in the Fall and Winter! Thanks Emily for taking our wonderful Christmas photos.

Reader's Digest Version:

We hosted Thanksgiving at our house, my sister-in-law/best friend had a baby boy, we went to Disneyland with Steph, Jon, and Chase, Christmas was super special, in January we visited our amazing and wonderful Point Loma friends in California who just had a baby girl (and we went to Disney again), I visited my Sister, Jason, and Ace in Vegas, and then we did some house projects! Somehow we found some time to work in there. Eric gave me a Nook Color for Christmas, so I've read 12 books since December 25th. Whoops! We both read the Hunger Games Trilogy and we are looking forward to seeing the movie in March.

Oh and in the meantime, I became addicted to Pinterest and obsessed with a television show, Downton Abbey. I have found some great decorating ideas on Pinterest and could probably re-pin things all day if I didn't have clients e-mailing me. Sorry to those of you I introduced to both Pinterest and Downton Abbey.

Upcoming Events:
- Eric's sister Christina is set to have Baby Ryan on the 9th (tomorrow), so we are excited to meet him
- Going to see Wicked
- Brophy Hockey finals
- 80's prom 30th Bday party for our friend, Jen
- Ace 1st Birthday party in Vegas
- A visit from Britt, Bobby, and Bryn

Hopefully we can get back to Disneyland and Kansas too! Please feel free to come visit us. We love having visitors.
